Are you guys ready for summer? This is the last week of school for my kiddies. I’ve been lying low, dealing with some health issues, + taking a break from social media among other things. I haven’t been able to get to the studio regularly so I’ve been working from home a lot. I posted the picture above to remind myself that dreams really do come true. For years I dreamt of having my own space to work from and I just realized that in a few short months I will have been at the studio for a year! It sounds crazy, I swear this has been the fastest year of my life! God is so good. I just have to give thanks.!!! Anyway, I’m excited about summer’s swift approach. I’m looking forward to our schedules relaxing a little as far as drop offs + pick ups go, and I’m excited about lazy summer evenings and beach sunsets. How about you? Do you have any trips planned? What are you looking forward to this summer?

Hello friends, it’s been a while! It’s been a wonderful summer so far. So much has transpired in the last few weeks, one thing being that my family and I took a 17 day road trip across the country last month and it was absolutely ah-mazing. We saw so much of this beautiful country and our spirits were thoroughly rejuvenated. There’s nothing like travel for renewing the mind, spirit, body and soul. I basically took a mini work hiatus during travel time with the fam and was able to fully dedicate myself and my energy to enjoying each moment. Fortunately, the way I have set up my business has allowed me to be able to take these necessary breaks and I swear, it’s part of what helps me to stay motivated to continue creating, and building my business. I’ve returned from vacation fully motivated, and full of new designs, ideas and projects to implement and share with you guys over the next few months. In the meantime, hope you enjoyed a few snaps from our time in New Orleans. :)
October is swiftly coming to a close. Unfortunately, the weather here hasn’t quite reconciled itself to the fact that we are in our second month of Fall. I am yearning for cooler weather, boots + sweaters, and nights by the fireplace!
What’s your favorite time of year? Are you a summer lover, or does Spring make you sing? Do you love Fall or is Winter your thing?
It’s Wednesday and summer is upon us! My kids are out of school officially tomorrow and I am welcoming the slower change of pace that summer brings. Because I am already in the weekend mindset, and ready to get this show on the road, I’ve listed 3 fun things to do in LA this Friday below. I hope you are all enjoying your week and steadily making progress on the things you want to accomplish!

Mornin’ Friends + Happy First of June! Summer is officially right around the corner and I am ready for it! Ready for more relaxed schedules, time spent with family and quick summer get aways. Those are some of the inspirations for today’s Mood Board Monday. I’ve created a fresh, cool palette for you to ease on in to summer with. I know the days ahead are going to be hot ones, so this palette is designed to keep you cool. Infused with soft peach, cool blues and citrus greens, balanced out by neutral taupe and army green, this palette should be easy to incorporate into your wardrobe as we finish off our spring/summer transition. Think of putting the lighter, fresher colors of the palette close to your skin, by selecting these colors for tops, dresses and skirts, you can balance out the look by using the darker tones on strappy sandals, heels and slides. Exotic skinned accessories in any of these tones will give your outfit a little something extra by adding a luxe feel via texture.
What do you think? Would you wear this palette?
I hope you guys had a fun + safe 4th of July! Summer is in full swing around here . . . it almost feels busier than school season, except without the homework! Anyway, My love of black and white never ceases, but since it’s summer, I thought I would throw in a dose of muted turquoise as a color pop. It’s another one of my favorite color combos. I thought it might provide some color palette inspiration for ya. Hope you are enjoying your day!
Hey guys! How was your weekend? Summer is officially here, according to the calendar. June 21st was the first official day of summer, and my Dad’s birthday! He is 70 now! I can’t believe it! I am so blessed to have been able to share another birthday with him. Life is so precious.
We have now entered our 2nd week of summer vacay. The kids started day camp today. They kept talking about how they didn’t want to go, but they need it so bad. And so does mama!! I haven’t really sat down to blog in a 2 weeks! I’m getting my work schedule back up and running and working on a few outside projects that I will be sharing with you shortly.
It looks like this is going to be a busy week. Our family is coming in from Texas this week. My sister and brother are renewing their wedding vows after 30 years of marriage this Saturday!! Count them . . . thirty years! I say that with complete and utter awe and admiration. What a milestone!!! I feel like a newborn baby as this September Rob + I will celebrate 13 years. A drop in the bucket in comparison, yet a milestone for us nevertheless!!
Last Saturday I had a really productive brunch\meeting with my friend Nikki and a graphic designer friend of hers that she introduced me to. (I love how God always provides the answers to questions I may be pondering or sitting on). She and I had been discussing my handbag line and I was sharing some frustrations with her while we were waiting for her friend to arrive. When he got there we all started talking and he basically confirmed that I should move forward with all the things I had just spoken to Nikki about. Without even knowing we had discussed them!! Ahhh! God is good. Confirmation is awesome. Especially since I have not been feeling my most confident in the steps I have been choosing to take moving forward with the line. ANYWAY, I said all of that just to remind you guys to remain open. The answers will come to you if you are open to hearing them. They may not come in the form or package you were expecting, but they will come to you.
And on that note I leave you with my Moody Summer mood board. I love the bright cheery colors balanced out by the moodiness of iced aqua, grey, charcoal and pastels.
Have you gotten confirmation on anything you have been grappling with lately?
Well, it’s offically here! June. The month Summer begins. I love the month of June. My dad’s birthday is this month, Father’s day, the First day of Summer, Kids will be out of school in 2 weeks . . . the list goes on. I am looking forward to the change of pace around the house. But honestly, there is a bit of apprehension that goes along with Summer for me. For one, it means, ERRBODY in my household is home. Husband and kids. I work from home and having everyone at home creates another dynamic that I find hard to balance. I’ve been trying to think of ways to make things flow a little better (for everyone) around the house during summer break. I’ve been thinking that this summer, I will schedule specific work hours for myself. I am scouting good places to work from outside the home. I would love to partake in a co-working space, but I don’t want to have to drive too far to get there, and there are none in my immediate area . . . (ding! ☀Business Idea!! ☀) So it looks like I will be perusing local coffee shops and libraries. This summer I am putting the kiddies in a 1/2 day summer camp as well. They need more activities with other kids, and the opportunity to make new friends.
So how does your schedule change in the summer? Have you found a way to balance your schedule during the summer months?
Well, tomorrow the kiddies are back in school. I can hardly believe it is that time of year again! This summer was a lot of fun, and although we didn’t take any trips this summer, we spent a lot of time together and it was good for my soul . . . and now, it’s back to work & school!!! I welcome the change in schedule. Not so much the drop offs and pick ups, but the routine of it all seems to have a stabilizing effect on the kiddies . . . (and the husband for that matter). Now all I need is for the weather to do a drastic 180 and drop about 40 degrees!!! Then, I will be in heaven!
