A few weeks ago I got together with friend and photographer Erica Hampton. I wanted to do a creative collaboration with her and she suggested we head out to The Old Zoo at Griffith Park. I had never been to the old zoo before, but the thought of an abandoned zoo was totally intriguing so I was immediately game! I love the natural light in these photos. We shot inside some of the actual animal exhibits which was really cool. It’s even possible to climb your way through the back of the exhibits and experience the inner workings of zoo-dom, if you’re so inclined. ☺ Erica is an amazing photographer and a joy to work with, for more of her work visit her site here.
This quote from Anna Wintour pretty much sums up the core of my style philosophy. I’m big on maintaining individuality. I think the beauty of humanity is that we were created as unique individuals, and it completely undermines God’s creativity when we all end up looking the same. I find it interesting when I’m shopping or out and about with friends, and someone picks up an item and says “This reminds me of you.” To me that means there is something identifiable about my style that she has picked up on. Style is personal for me. It’s something I take time to curate. Something that I enjoy creating. It is a tactile extension of my personality that helps to visually define who I am to the outside world. That’s why I love this quote so much, it succinctly defines my style philosophy. It speaks to the creativity of personal style, the uniqueness of making it our own, and the identities we create or enhance through our choice of dress.

March is a big Fashion month for Los Angeles. LA Fashion Week is just around the corner -next week to be exact! I’ll be covering a few shows via Style Fashion Week and I’m looking forward to being able to share those with you, so stay tuned! Along with LA Fashion week there are a lot of other industry fashion related events going on around town. Here are a few events happening this month, and I will post more as I hear about them (click the images for more information). Get your calendars ready ladies!
Here are a few of my fav looks from Fausto Puglisi’s Pre-Fall Collection. I love the seemingly retro palette, which actually feels really modern in this collection. Fausto has incorporated great texture and pattern with his use of boucle, leather, animal and geometric prints. I also love how the looks are styled with minimal accessories and a touch of bad girl sass. ☺
Happy Saturday! Keep it colorful! xx

I love making mood boards + collages. It’s part of what lead me to create this blog. Something about putting together inspiring images always seems to relax me and hone my focus. I created this board to give myself a little direction with the new line I am working on. I thought this would be a good place to share it and a good way to start back with the Mood Board Mondays posts. Happy Monday guys!!
What’s inspiring you right now?

It’s been so hectic the past few weeks leading up to Christmas, that I didn’t do much posting. I hope you all had wonderful holiday celebrations with your families and friends. Last week I did some last minute shopping in Claremont Village and we snapped a few shots. The weather was cooler (which of course I LOVED). I’m hoping we get back to cooler temps around these parts again soon. Hope you are all enjoying this holiday season.
What are your plans for New Years?

The winter season is in full swing here in Cali. I have been loving the chill in the air and that underlying sense of excitement and expectancy that I always feel in December! The holiday’s are rapidly approaching. I had an amazing birthday week and a nice Thanksgiving with friends and family and now we are looking ahead to Christmas. This week we are traveling to Austin Texas for my niece’s college graduation. I’m so excited to A. take a road trip and B. spend time with my family.
Yesterday we finally got our Christmas tree. I had been debating whether or not to get an artificial tree, since we were going to be traveling for a week, but I can not imagine the house not having that evergreen smell @ Christmastime!!! For me, artificial = convenience, (and I’m all about convenience) but I feel like I would be jipping my kids! Growing up, part of the Christmas excitement & tradition was going out and selecting the tree. So, we are keepin’ it real for now! Anyway, in keeping with the spirit of the season, I thought the tree lot would be a great place to snap a few outfit shots!! Don’t you just love when the weather allows us to change gears and pull out all things cozy!
Have you gotten your tree yet? ☺
I believe the name of this bracelet translates to “Cities of Gold.” This bracelet definitely looks like something one would unearth in an archaeological dig in some far off land. I think I would use that as my theme when getting dressed with this piece. You can purchase the Cites d’Or bracelet here for $1,200.
