A Current Affair Vintage Pop Up . . .

a_current_affair_mktplace_thelookbookphilosophy.com I spent last Saturday traipsing through tons of amazing vintage clothing, jewelry  and accessories. There were 60+ vendors showcasing an array of vintage delicacies from every era imaginable. Inspiration was everywhere, from the clothing racks to the people perusing them. It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday.  vintage_clothing_marketplace_thelookbookphilosophy.com The event was put on by A Current Affair and held in a bright and airy penthouse space on the 11th floor of the Cooper Building.  a_current_afffair_vintage_mktplc_thelookbookphilosophy.com Walking the aisles proved to be a treat. There were beautiful displays of well curated jewelry, clothing and accessories at every turn . . . vintage_clothing_marketplace_thelookbookphilosophy.com vintage_clothing_marketplace_thelookbookphilosophy.com I loved the decor of the lounge area, which featured mid century modern furniture provided by Urban Americana. Even the furniture was available for purchase.
vintage_clothing_marketplace_Los_Angeles_thelookbookphilosophy.com I fell in love with this dress, however I had to leaver her behind. It’s a funny thing, being a small business owner, I tend to weigh my high end purchases by what I could do with the money I would be spending if I were to put it back into my business. I often end up walking away, unless I just can’t get that item out of my mind. She was hard to walk away from, and as I was looking at her, two ladies stopped and told me I had the perfect hair for that dress. Lol! Never heard it put that way before, nevertheless, she remained on the rack. At least I have a picture of her!
vintage_clothing_shopping_ los_angeles_thelookbookphilosophy.com vintage_clothing_shopping_los_angeles_thelookbookphilosophy.com These racks of clothes and their color (or lack of) make me so happy! vintage_shopping_los_angeles_thelookbookphilosophy.com I fell in love with so many of the vintage frames in the Allyn Scura booth. It was definitely a little slice of heaven for this sunglass addict . . .  vintage_clothing_shopping_los_angeles_thelookbookphilosophy.com lights_cooper_building_vintage_shopping_los_angeles_thelookbookphilosophy.com Loved the light fixture at the elevator bank upon entering/exiting the 11th floor. cooper_building_lobby_art_thelookbookphilosophy.com I was drawn to this work of art by Berlin based artist, Nike Schroeder. This particular piece can be found hanging in the Cooper Building lobby.

A Current Affair vintage pop up was founded in 2010 by Richard Wainwright of NEW/FOUND and Joey Grana of Scout. ACA is a 2 day pop up held 3 times/year in Los Angeles at the Cooper Building Penthouse and recently added a Brooklyn New York pop up to it’s roster this past Spring. Ticket prices for the event range from $12-$28. Vendor prices range from around $40-$2000+. If you are planning to go, I suggest getting the preview admission tickets in order to get a first hand perusal of the goodies in a relaxed atmosphere.  Visit itsacurrentaffair.com for more info, upcoming show dates and vendors.
