Academy Awards 2014 | My Top 5 Favorite Oscar Looks . . . .

Camilla Alves Oscar 2014 Camilla Alves was pure perfection tonight in a beautiful Gabriela Cadena gown + Charlotte Olympia shoes. She and Matthew were really a treat to look at. Hands down this was my FAVORITE dress of the night. Three Thumbs up, In LOVE with this dress!!! (and Matthew’s acceptance speech was icing on the cake). 470936651AB00219_86th_Annua Lupita Nyong’o never disappoints in her gown choices. For the Oscars tonite she wore a “Nairobi Blue” Prada gown. Lupita always looks stunning, she was flawless in her appearance and so gracious in her acceptance speech. These words from her speech jumped off the screen to me, “No matter where you are from, your dreams are valid.” Yes!!! AgreedShe is truly inspiring.

Sandra Bullock by Steve Granitz:wireimage I am a true Sandra Bullock fan. I think she is gorgeous and funny, and she generally makes wise fashion choices. Her midnight blue Alexander McQueen gown is stunning and she is totally giving off classic old Hollywood vibes here. The addition of the Lorraine Schwartz ear cuff adds just the right touch of modern to the look. Love it and love her!

Kate Hudson by Jason Merritt:Getty Images Kate Hudson is not usually one to make my best dressed list, but she looked absolutely beautiful tonight in a lightly beaded Atelier Versace gown. The plunging neckline and shoulder pads gave another nod to classic old Hollywood style and she rocked it flawlessly. I’d have to say this was my 2nd favorite gown of the night. Love it!

and if you thought the front was beautiful . . . have a look at the back!

I think they can be hard to wear sometimes, but when done right, a white dress can give off such an elegant, immaculate vibe. I think Naomi looks fantastic in her cap sleeved white sequined gown by Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein. A beautiful choice.

Did you watch the Oscars? What were your favorite looks from the night?

Impractically Pretty . . .

For all it’s understated beauty and classic simplicity, this succulent wedge is probably the most impractical shoe I have posted as of yet. (I am classifying yesterday’s wooden wedge as artwork, not footwork). I love the crispness of this shoe, as well as it’s shape and the beautiful detail of the whipstitching engulfing the heel and toe strap. I can easily picture myself in these wedges wearing a great pair of shorts and a lightweight off-the-shoulder sweater, I’ve chosen to accessorize with a select choice of chunky jewelry. I am holding a delicious mixed drink in my hand and throwing my head back in throaty laughter at a witty remark someone made during a summer evening soirée. Unfortunately, I can just as easily see myself screaming in horror (in slow motion) as said drink is “accidentally” knocked from my hand (in slow motion), causing a very ugly spattering of liquor spots and splash marks on my classically understated, light grey suede, $1,025 Alexander McQueen wedges, that I have become abnormally attached to since time of purchase. I wonder if these shoes come with a lifetime guarantee or a “magical cleaning genie” who pops out of a hidden back door of the wedge specifically for these types of messy encounters. Even if the price of this shoe did not leave a dent in my wallet, I would always be apprehensive while wearing, and might possibly have to request an electric shock fence be installed around my feet for every outing.

Purchase yours here, if you dare . . .
