One of the highlights of the MAGIC show for me was meeting Andy Paige. I admire how she has created a career for herself based on doing what she loves, and has retained her warm personality and southern charm while doing it. You may recognize Andy as a style expert who has appeared on TLC’s Ten Years Younger and the Style Network’s “How do I Look?” She is also the author of Style on a Shoestring. Andy debuted the Girly Go Garter at MAGIC last August and won best new accessory. She created the Girly Go Garter as a way for women to carry their must-haves without having to carry a purse. The Girly Go Garter is a garter with pockets that adheres to the upper thigh. It was born out of the double need for women to have a place to put their mic pacs at the Emmy’s, in addition to the need for women out on the town to have a hands free place to put their ID, phones, money, lipstick, keys and other items. The Girly Go Garter can hold up to 3 lbs. and looks like a beautiful piece of lingerie. It retails for $35 and can be found in over 700 locations nationwide. As you probably already know, I am an avid scarf addict. I’ve been known to wear a scarf in 90 degree weather (of course it was lightweight voile and I had on a tank top . . . but that’s a story for an outfit post ☺) One of my favorite finds at the ENK Women’s show was discovering the brother and sister design team behind 5 year old label, ShawLux. Annu and Nick Gyani apply digital photographs to cashmere, silk and modal fabrics. Their line for Spring/Summer consisted of beautiful digital printed scarves, shawls and caftans. The line retails from $80-$300. ShawlLux can be found at Nordstrom, Henri Bendel, Barney’s, Kitson and Anthropologie. I’m already planning on purchasing the NYC Taxi scarf for my trip to NYC this Spring! For more information, visit shawlux.com.
