I’m from the camp that love should be celebrated everyday, so holidays like Valentine’s Day don’t mean much to me. I think it’s so important to celebrate love in the smallest things. Bouquet’s of flowers are great, candy is nice, but the words that actually let people know you love and care about them are the most important thing. This past week I lost two people who meant a lot to me. Grieving is a funny thing, you never know exactly how you will be effected by losing a loved one. Unfortunately, losing someone close to you highlights the fact that it’s important to celebrate life + the love you have for each other when and wherever possible. Last week I decorated the studio windows with a subtle tribute to the spirit of love, which you can never have enough of . . . unless it’s a crazy, obsessed, overbearing kind of love . . but I think that is a subject for a different blog post. 😳 Carry on! ;)
Happy Love Day!
Happy Birthday, Dr. King. Thank you for all the work you’ve done. Sadly, we still have so much more work to do.
2017 is here guys!!! It’s been a long time coming . . . a whole 365 days in fact! It always feels good to walk into a new year of life. Especially with health and family in tact. I don’t make resolutions anymore, but I do keep a list of things I am always working on in regards to myself; physically + mentally, my family and my business. Nevertheless, I can’t discount that wonderful feeling of newness and fresh-starts that seems to swirl around the start of every new year. I love that feeling! One thing I’ve learned over the years is that if you really want to see change or create new atmospheres in your life, it all begins with your mind. And if you are looking at the beginning of the new year as a jumping off point, bringing old mindsets into the new year with you won’t help you achieve the change you want to see. So on that note, I’m grabbing a glass and sending up the proverbial cheers to new mindsets and progression toward major goal crushing this year!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🎩🍾

How was your holiday? Did you celebrate with friends and family? Did you eat good food? Did you spend time alone, rejuvenating your mind and body? I hope that however you spent it, it was good for you. I spent mine with lots of family, laughter and food . . . and then I promptly got sick for 2 days. So did my daughter. Today is the first day I am out of bed and feeling bettah. Now it’s time to gear up for New Year’s Celebrations. Do you have plans for the eve? Plans for the day? Either way, make it a safe one! There’s a new year upon us. It’s exciting to think that there are 365 days ahead of us to craft into what we want. Here’s to the New Year and making it the best yet!

Sending blessings + love to you and your families this holiday season!
While I haven’t used the term “best friend” since high school, there is never a bad time to celebrate your best friends, and closest confidants! Today happens to be June 8th, National Best Friend’s Day, and I was inspired to create this drawing because of it. True friendship is a gift, so reach out to your homegirls and tell them how much they mean to you! We don’t need a special day to do that now do we? :)
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for so many things today, but as I sit and ponder them, I’m recognizing that they are all the same things that I am thankful for every day . . . . . health, God’s grace, friends, family, growth, love, experiences, faith, hope, the ability to be able to do what I love for a living, the blessing of meeting new people who have brought more beauty into my life. The things I am most thankful for don’t come with a price tag. Don’t get me wrong, I do have a few things that came with price tags that I am truly thankful for as well, but when I strip it all down, other than the roof over my head, food to eat, car to drive and clothes to wear, the things that mean the most to me consist of people and experiences, creativity and growth. I’m so thankful for all of them.
I hope you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving and are able to be surrounded by people you love and good food.
