Stacks on stacks on stacks in the leather aisle . . .
Fabric stores are like playgrounds for me . . .
Neutrals . . .
An expanse of color, texture + drape . . .
Thanks Diana for introducing me to Mood!
Are you familiar with Mood Fabrics? If you’ve ever watched Project Runway, you might recognize Mood as the fabric store the designers usually go to to get fabric and trims for their projects. That particular Mood is in New York, but we have had a Mood store here in Cali since 2007. Until last weekend I had never been there. My friend Diana decided enough is enough and dragged me kicking and screamin- . . . . okay, not true, she did decide enough was enough, but I definitely was not dragged, and any screams that may have been overheard can definitely be attributed to squeals of delight. The leather aisle had a nice selection of colors and textures. I fell in love with a tie dye lambskin that I actually forgot to take a photo of. (At the moment I am limited to taking photos of leather because I can get carried away with purchasing fabrics and since I am heading into production, the only leather I need to be buying are the ones I need for production #designerdilemas). Anyway, there was definitely a lot of eye candy, and inspiration abounds for me when surrounded by bolts of fabric. It’s definitely worth checking out.
If you are interested in visiting MOOD fabric they are located at: 645 S. LaBrea Av. Los Angeles, CA 90036 | T:323.653.3663 | M-F 9-7 Sat: 10-5 Sun: CLOSED
Last week my friend D came to visit me @ the studio and we snuck off to enjoy a happy hour treat in celebration of our latest accomplishments!
Participated in a super fun photo shoot for the launch of a friend’s wonderful new business on Tuesday. Check out these gold boots I wore for the shoot!! Too fabulous!
After the shoot I was treated to my very first (definitely not the last) Umami Burger… so. freakin. good.
On Friday, my friend Diana + I explored the Arts District Co Op, where I became an awkward angel and once again exerted my dis-ease in front of the camera . . .
Here is the interior of the Arts District Co Op . . . such a beautiful creative space with lots of goodies to spend your $$ on . . .
My love affairs with doors + exteriors continues . . . and downtown LA is full of inspiration and photo worthy imagery . . .
The studio is coming along nicely. However, I have to put decorating on hold while I focus on production. As badly as I want to finish fixing it up, I’ve found it’s much more productive to actually have products to sell LOL!
How was your week? Did you see or do anything interesting or do anything out of your comfort zone this week? :)
Hey guys how’s your Wednesday going? I am writing this to you from my new studio. It’s a mess as things are still getting settled, but progress is being made. It’s painted and I have my desk, bright natural light, a sunny disposition + a thankful heart so it’s all good! What are you up to today? Yesterday I worked on a fun project for a friend of mine and we also did a photoshoot for the bags. Today it’s back to reality though. I’m working on the new items I will have for the holiday season. Can you believe it’s already October???? Time is flying by, but this is my absolute favorite time of year so you’ll get no complaining from moi! However, for now it’s back to work. I hope you are all having a fabulous day. Do something today for yourself or your business that you have been putting off. I promise, It will make you feel soooo good!
Excitement abounds!! Got the keys to my new workspace!!
Picked up the keys to my studio! After school yesterday the kids and I drove out to pick up the keys and do a little bit of last minute measuring. I’m so excited I could pop! This weekend will be filled with painting and moving. It’s definitely an answered prayer. God is so good. I’ve been gradually checking off things from my vision board in the last few years and it feels so amazing! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend, but most of all I hope you are all reaching for your dreams. Just know that no matter how far away they may seem, they are still within reach.
Do you have a working vision board or a book that you put your dreams + goals in?
