a rich jewel tone palette for spring transition . . .
This Mood Board Monday I am sharing more of a mood palette, rather than a collection of images. Back in the day when I had my clothing line, I used a lot of color and pattern in my designs. Now, I tend to stick to neutral colors, like black, white, gray, and creme, with a pop of color here or there. But lately (and I blame this on the sweltering heat we have been experiencing lately) I have felt a desire to add more pattern and color to my wardrobe. Warmer weather always makes me want to get a little louder with my wardrobe. This image of Nidhi Sunil caught my eye because of it’s vibrancy. I created this palette from some of the darker tones in the image. It may be color overload for a “color neutralist” like myself, but I would definitely wear a version of this outfit. The Carven skirt is calling my name . . .
Would you wear this palette?

I love interesting floors and tiles. It’s amazing how happy a great floor can make me. Did you know there are a few instagram accounts dedicated to floors and tiles? Check out two of my favorites: @ihavethisthingwithfloors + @ihavethisthingwithtiles for more flooring magnificence . . .
So this happened . . . we hung out in WeHo with my brother and sister and tried a new pizza place. Somehow we made the mistake of each ordering our own pizza without considering that they were not personal sized pizzas . . . a total of 7 whole pizzas. Fun was had by all.
Spotted this old beauty on an impromptu walk to the pizza joint. Such great lines!
Are you familiar with Bunch Magazine? Its a great magazine that features creatives+ influencers in different industries. I got my first copy and loved it. I’m so glad to have discovered it. One can never have too many goodies to read + draw inspiration from. You can check them out here.
I ♡ taking walks through unfamiliar neighborhoods. I can’t wait to live in an area where it is more conducive to walk to things. I love looking at the exteriors and landscaping in different neighborhoods. Spotted this ivy + red door on our same walk to the pizza spot last week.
More work in progress taking place in the design lab . . . Sometimes I wish I could just push a fast forward button. It’s amazing how long things take to complete when it’s just you doing a million things, but slow and steady wins the race, and progress is steadily happening, so I’m thankful for it.
Hope you had an amazing week! Have a fabulous weekend + Happy Easter in advance!!
Hey guys, I’m working on a more in depth post on things to do and see in Palm Springs. In the meantime, here is a tiny glimpse of my experience in the City of Sun last week. . . .
the color orange is having a serious moment in this retro, modern cool city . . .
Hope you are having a fabulous Thursday! The weekend is only one day away!

If you remember, I promised a free printable last week. Traveling sort of got me off schedule, but it’s finally ready for you guys today!
We have a large blank wall in our bathroom and I’ve been looking for something to fill the space. Not having found just the right thing, I decided to create it! In keeping with my love of typography, I created a few pieces of Punctuation Art for my bathroom + I thought I would share them with you guys. I plan on doing a gallery wall to fill the space and I’ll share before and after pics once I . . . uh, I mean, Rob, hangs them, but in the mean time, you can grab your own 5 piece Punctuation Art set here and create your own gallery wall, or typographical vignette.
this is the barren wall I plan to get all typographical on . . .
The artwork is formatted to fit an 8.5″ x 11″ frame (the opening of the mat in my frame is 7.5″ x 9.5.”) This artwork was created by me for you. Please do not sell it or use it for commercial purposes. If you do like it and use it, I’d love to see how! Send me a pic or tag me on instagram @thelookbookphilosophy.
black, white, creme, navy + mint . . . fresh + classic . . .
a perfect palette to transition into Spring . . .
This Mood Board Monday I am sharing an understated mood board and palette that was inspired by the first day of Spring, which (unbelievably) graced us with it’s presence 2 days ago. Right now I am loving the classic-fresh feel of white, creme, gray, and muted mint. Combined with the rich contrast of black and navy, I think it makes a great transitional color palette for Spring. If the weather where you are is not quite feeling like Springtime yet, think about adding heavier textures like a black embossed croc bag, or a nubby wool peacoat to balance out the white and creme. By adding the muted mint, you can bring in color and make it fresh in a way that doesn’t scream “Spring picnic” in the midst of a snow storm.
Is this a palette you would incorporate into your wardrobe?

I hope you all had a fabulous week and are having a productive Friday. I’m so glad the weekend is here! Keep chipping away at your goals, and don’t forget to celebrate the (seemingly) little accomplishments. In the past I was not always one to celebrate the little things. I had to make a choice to begin doing it (and it’s still not second nature, just ask Rob). I will tell you that it does make a difference! By highlighting the fact that you ARE making progress, it somehow makes your end goal seem more attainable. So go ahead! Celebrate what has already been accomplished, completed, checked off a list or released into the world. Any excuse to party on a Friday, right? ☺
herringbone floors, natural light, glass + arches . . .♡
This morning has gone by in a flash! The kids are already home from school and its almost time to begin homework. I found this beautiful workspace on Pinterest earlier this week and since it looks much more amazing than the space I am sitting in now, I decided to share it in honor of Werkspace Wednesday. It’s crazy hectic around here as I am preparing to leave town for a few days, but I have a free printable coming your way by the end of the week so stay tuned!!
::embrace imperfection:: sweatshirt in heather black | The LookBook Philosophy
In lieu of my recent rant and ongoing philosophy of embracing imperfections, I have released some new T’s and sweatshirts in the shop today! Embracing imperfections has become a mental movement in my life, just like the “change your mind” movement that I’ve created to remind myself to break old thought patterns by renewing my mind via the word of God, and the words that I speak. I am an extremely visual person, so actually seeing the words daily is important to me. Especially when I can see them in a way that is aesthetically pleasing. I like to surround myself with subtle mantras that are visible throughout my day. I do little things like keep cards on my desk and write them out in my journal. Because I love clothes so much, I began incorporating these words and mantras into my clothing in the form of sweatshirts and T’s. It’s a great way to keep it in front of you, so to speak . . . and the added benefit for an introvert like myself, is that they are great conversation starters! Click here to snag one of your own . . . :)
You’ll get no apologies for shameless family plugs around here :) Just wanted to share my brother’s new remix for “Lost Cause” by Beck which was released yesterday. You can get the free download for yourself by clicking here. Enjoy!
Happy Tuesday!! xx
