I gotta say, this summer has flown by at lightning speed! Kids are back to school next week and I feel as if I have really been playing a game of catch up!! Last Saturday I attended my 3rd wedding of the summer. This time my nephew got married. It was such a beautiful day. My daughter was a flower girl and my son was an escort. Soooo cool to see your kids following directions splendidly!! Lol! Saturday was a wonderful day filled with love, laughter and a lot of dancing.
Life is really a lesson in letting go. If you look closely at my daughter’s dress, you will see where she rubbed her beautiful, WHITE flower girl dress up against the newly polished coffee table 5 minutes before we were to leave the house en route to the wedding. At that point all we could do was “just breathe . . . ” ☺
My sisters and I made a colorful statement don’t you think? I love the sparkle in Detra’s eyes on this shot. (she is the proud mother of the Groom :) My dress is from Zara. It is no longer available, but you can find similar ones here and here.
Last week we also celebrated my niece’s 7th birthday! We celebrated by doing cake decorating at Duff’s Cake Mix in Hollywood. You can decorate your own cupcakes and cakes. Such a cool spot!! The kids (and adults) loved it! My mom and I even discussed getting together for an adult cake decorating party or a girl’s nite out.
On Sunday I had the pleasure of meeting up with fellow Blogcademy Alum Karina. We met when I attended the 2 day Blogcademy Workshop in San Francisco last Spring. We had lunch in Pasadena and then after a quick selfie, she snapped this fabulous photo of me at the phone booths. Karina is a San Francisco based photographer. It was really fun getting to know her better and I am looking forward to collaborating with her soon!
My dress is by Elan. I got it at Nordstrom Rack. It’s become one of my favorite summer dresses, you can wear it a few different ways so that the stripes give you a different pattern. You can find a similar one here.
We’ve been spending a lot of time walking at the colleges in the evenings. That tends to happen a lot in the summer. No matter how many times I go there, I can’t help but to take pictures. Its such an inspiring, peaceful place for me.
I have to make the kids bring a backpack or small bag next time. Everytime we go, they collect nuts, seeds, acorns + pine cones and they always end up crunched up in the bottom of my purse. #mommyproblems Lol!
