I have always created different prints to keep at my desk or use in my inspiration books, and I’ve recently decided to start sharing them. Yesterday I made this “Keep Moving Forward” print just to keep myself motivated . . . (and because I was feeling inspired by the shape of this letter “k” ☺). I wanted to share it with you guys as a free printable. It’s a PDF file that fits on 8.5″ x 11 paper, or you can crop it to fit in an 8 x 10″ frame.
We can all use a little motivation sometimes. Simple reminders placed around your work area or home can help to put your mind back on track. (take it from someone with a wandering mind . . . :) These little words actually hold a lot of weight. No matter what your task at hand, be it big or small, the only way to see it through to fruition is to keep moving forward. Don’t stop.
I’ve been a fan of Duro Olowu’s dresses for many years now. His use of printed fabrics in contemporary silhouettes makes it easy for anyone to incorporate prints into their wardrobe. Here are a few highlights from his showing for Spring 2013 during New York Fashion Week yesterday . . .
I know the last 3 posts are bordering on print overload, but please bear with me! ☺ These posts are coming from a girl who has had an undying love of prints for years. When I first started my clothing line I was making dresses and skirts from hand dyed African brocade and Vlisco dutch wax prints. I had many people & some retailers tell me that the prints were “too bold” . . . “too colorful” . . . “not what customers were looking for” . . . yet when I wore my dresses in public, both then, and even now, women would stop me in the street and ask where I got my dress from. I guess I am just relishing the fact that the day of the print is here, and I am loving every moment of it!
