photo shoot prep last week . . .
How are you guys? How were your holidays? January is in full swing and moving full steam ahead. I’ve been working hard on several projects that will ultimately result in a subtle restructuring of my business. It’s both exciting and slightly nerve wracking, but such is life. Sometimes that’s how change feels, and its not necessarily a bad thing. I’m a firm believer that many of us need to spend more time outside of our comfort zones, because that’s the place where you experience the most growth . . . and I’m all about growth . . . unless we are talking waistlines, and after the holidays, thats something thats been on my
stomach mind as well. But I digress! I’ll be checking back in soon with more updates, as well as previews of the new collection. Take care of yourselves out there!
I’m wishing for snow!!! . . . wishful thinking and wrong shoes for snow, I know, but a girl can dream! Have a great weekend!

Hey guys! Can you believe it is already September??!!! Where did this summer go? So much has been going on in my camp, I don’t even know where the time has gone! My kids start school next Tuesday, and this year we have decided to homeschool them, so our family is in the midst of an exciting new experience.

Day two, chatting with other makers and creatives . . .
Two weeks ago I participated in the Unique Summer Market @ Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. It was a two day show for makers + designers that I’d been contemplating doing for a while. Before I had surgery this summer, my friend Renee approached me about getting a booth together. She has a wonderful jewelry line called The Silver Feather. You can check out her wares here. Doing shows are really out of my comfort zone, but seeing as I was facing a dire prognosis, I thought it would give me something to shoot for recovery-wise, so I agreed to participate. I’m so glad I did. It was definitely an experience that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, nonetheless, it was a really fun show. I was inspired to create a new style which we debuted for the show: The Verdana 3-in-1 waist pack/cross body/clutch is an exercise in fashion + function. It can be worn 3 different ways which allows for ultimate versatility. We sold out of the black + camoflauge colors at the show, and have since sold out of liquid gold. So I am opening up pre-orders for a new batch! I’ve added the styles to the website so click here to check them out and preorder one for yourself or a friend!
I’m from the camp that love should be celebrated everyday, so holidays like Valentine’s Day don’t mean much to me. I think it’s so important to celebrate love in the smallest things. Bouquet’s of flowers are great, candy is nice, but the words that actually let people know you love and care about them are the most important thing. This past week I lost two people who meant a lot to me. Grieving is a funny thing, you never know exactly how you will be effected by losing a loved one. Unfortunately, losing someone close to you highlights the fact that it’s important to celebrate life + the love you have for each other when and wherever possible. Last week I decorated the studio windows with a subtle tribute to the spirit of love, which you can never have enough of . . . unless it’s a crazy, obsessed, overbearing kind of love . . but I think that is a subject for a different blog post. 😳 Carry on! ;)
Happy Love Day!
Work in progress . . .
Hey guys, Happy Tuesday! It’s been a little rocky establishing a solid work schedule at the studio. I took much needed time off during the holidays, but the kiddies came down with the flu towards the end so they’ve been sick at home for the past 2 days. Luckily, I can adjust my schedule, and work from home when need be, but it definitely makes it harder to establish open hours for the boutique. So I want to take a minute to say Thank You to all my customers for bearing with me as the open hours schedule adjusts. I am working on some fun new items and can’t wait to get them in the shop for you. Meanwhile, you can always shop online or via instagram and I can email your invoice. Thank God for the mobile offices of today!!
Enjoy free shipping for with code FREESHIP on all domestic orders now through midnight this coming Monday!
New samples have arrived in the studio!
Hey guys! I’ve created a few new styles for Holiday that I am excited to share with you. They are being added to the shop this week! In the meantime, I am gearing up for my trip to San Francisco this weekend, where Lori and I will be GATHERING with a few amazing small business owners to support, encourage and discuss issues related to our businesses. If you are interested in joining us, we’d love to have you. Email your RSVP to [email protected] and we’ll send you over the deets! In the meantime, Have a fabulous Wednesday!!
Excitement abounds!! Got the keys to my new workspace!!
Picked up the keys to my studio! After school yesterday the kids and I drove out to pick up the keys and do a little bit of last minute measuring. I’m so excited I could pop! This weekend will be filled with painting and moving. It’s definitely an answered prayer. God is so good. I’ve been gradually checking off things from my vision board in the last few years and it feels so amazing! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend, but most of all I hope you are all reaching for your dreams. Just know that no matter how far away they may seem, they are still within reach.
Do you have a working vision board or a book that you put your dreams + goals in?
South Pasadena, the new location of my design studio + showroom!!
Hey guys! Hope all is well in your world. Things have been crazy busy lately and I have been doing a lot of plotting, planning and a lil bit of packing over here. Why you ask? Well, I’m super excited to share with you that, come Friday, my “bedudio” (the word I made up for the “bedroom studio” that I have worked out of for the last few years) will close it’s doors to all working activity. Don’t fret, what that actually means is that I am gearing up to move said “bedudio” into a real. live. workspace. that is NOT inside, near, adjacent to, attached or even in the same city as my bedroom! It’s definitely a milestone for my business and something I have been diligently working towards and praying about for some time now. I’ll be sharing more about it and bringing you guys along for the ride in the coming weeks. In the meantime, have a happy Wednesday!!
