Saturdays . . .

Happy Saturday, guys. Hope you had a fantastic week. All week long I’ve been working on re-entry to real life after my belated-birthday-business-trip to Carmel last weekend. Re-entry has been a little bumpy by my standards. I came back super energized, excited and ready to  push myself out of my comfort zone. But my TO DO list was major and trying to balance everything and fit it all in with homeschool has been a little challenging. Nevertheless, I know it will get done. I’m doing some “Spring Cleaning” in the shop and I’m having a special sale for my instagram followers, so if you aren’t following me on Insta click here and get in on the action. Sale will go live on Tuesday, when I get back in town. Yay!

In the meantime, be good to yourselves, Enjoy this weekend + make it a point to spend time doing something you love at some point before Monday rolls around again.

Last weekend Lori and I finally met up for our belated birthday weekend getaway. We usually meet in November, the actual month of our birthdays, but life happened, so we decided to meet up in February in Carmel. Let me tell you, it really was worth the wait. We stayed at Carmel Valley Ranch, a beautifully serene resort that was absolute perfection, and just what the Doctor ordered. When Lori and I get together, we cant help but talk shop, all the while encouraging and brainstorming ideas for each other’s businesses. It comes naturally, and it’s always fun.  I left there with a healthy To Do List, and a recharged mind and priorities. I look forward to implementing some of my goals immediately. I will share here with you that God has been putting it on my heart to become more visible in my  brand. It’s definitely something I struggle with, being the hardcore-introvert-behind-the-scenes-gal that I am. I’ve been working on ways to do it in a way that feels authentic to me. So be on the look out for more glimpses  of me *cringe.*  And if you see me around social media, coming out of my shell, be sure to say hi! The part that makes it worth it is getting to know you guys!

January Things . . .

photo shoot prep last week . . .

How are you guys? How were your holidays? January is in full swing and moving full steam ahead. I’ve been working hard on several projects that will ultimately result in a subtle restructuring of my business. It’s both exciting and slightly nerve wracking, but such is life. Sometimes that’s how change feels, and its not necessarily a bad thing. I’m a firm believer that many of us need to spend more time outside of our comfort zones, because that’s the place where you experience the most growth . . . and I’m all about growth . . . unless we are talking waistlines, and after the holidays, thats something thats been on my stomach mind as well. But I digress! I’ll be checking back in soon with more updates, as well as previews of the new collection. Take care of yourselves out there!

The Verdana 3-in-1 Waist Pack Debuts @ Unique LA Summer Market

The Verdana 3-in-1 in Liquid Gold + Gunmetal

Verdana 3-in-1 in Camoflauge

Verdana 3-in-1 in Noir

Hey guys! Can you believe it is already September??!!! Where did this summer go? So much has been going on in my camp, I don’t even know where the time has gone! My kids start school next Tuesday, and this year we have decided to homeschool them, so our family is in the midst of an exciting new experience.

Our booth at Unique Markets Summer Session @ Barker Hangar

The Verdana 3-in-1 makes it’s debut @ Unique Summer ’17 Market . . .

Day two, chatting with other makers and creatives . . .

Two weeks ago I  participated in the Unique Summer Market @ Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. It was a two day show for makers + designers that I’d been contemplating doing for a while. Before I had surgery this summer, my friend Renee approached me about getting a booth together. She has a wonderful jewelry line called The Silver Feather. You can check out her wares here. Doing shows are really out of my comfort zone, but seeing as I was facing a dire prognosis, I thought it would give me something to shoot for recovery-wise, so I agreed to participate. I’m so glad I did. It was definitely an experience that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, nonetheless, it was a really fun show. I was inspired to create a new style which we debuted for the show: The Verdana 3-in-1 waist pack/cross body/clutch is an exercise in fashion + function. It can be worn 3 different ways which allows for ultimate versatility. We sold out of the black + camoflauge colors at the show, and have since sold out of liquid gold. So I am opening up pre-orders for a new batch! I’ve added the styles to the website so click here to check them out and preorder one for yourself or a friend!

Let’s Celebrate Love Every Day! ♡

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

I’m from the camp that love should be celebrated everyday, so holidays like Valentine’s Day don’t mean much to me. I think it’s so important to celebrate love in the smallest things. Bouquet’s of flowers are great, candy is nice, but the words that actually let people know you love and care about them are the most important thing. This past week I lost two people who meant a lot to me. Grieving is a funny thing, you never know exactly how you will be effected by losing a loved one. Unfortunately, losing someone close to you highlights the fact that it’s important to celebrate life + the love you have for each other when and wherever possible. Last week I decorated the studio windows with a subtle tribute to the spirit of love, which you can never have enough of . . . unless it’s a crazy, obsessed, overbearing kind of love . .  but I think that is a subject for a different blog post. 😳  Carry on! ;)

Happy Love Day!

Working . . .

Work in progress . . .

Work in progress . . .

Hey guys, Happy Tuesday! It’s been a little rocky establishing a solid work schedule at the studio. I took much needed time off during the holidays, but the kiddies came down with the flu towards the end so they’ve been sick at home for the past 2 days. Luckily, I can adjust my schedule, and work from home when need be, but it definitely makes it harder to establish open hours for the boutique. So I want to take a minute to say Thank You to all my customers for bearing with me as the open hours schedule adjusts.  I am working on some fun new items and can’t wait to get them in the shop for you. Meanwhile, you can always shop online or via instagram and I can email your invoice. Thank God for the mobile offices of today!!
