Wishing you and your families the happiest of holidays this season.
God Bless you + yours today + in the coming new year!
I received my inaugural issue of Hannah Magazine in the mail last week. I haven’t had a chance to really delve into the articles, but it’s a visually beautiful magazine. I love the fact that I was able to be a part of it in some way by supporting the Kickstarter program to bring this baby to life, which means that I was able to contribute in some way to someone’s dream becoming a reality. And you know, I am all about that. It makes having this magazine in my hands that much more special. So on this Friday, I’m sending a shout out to all you dreamers. Hold fast to your dreams. Keep walking towards them, baby steps and all. It’s the only way to make them become a reality!
I am extremely grateful to be able to own and operate a small business. It has afforded me so many little pleasures in the form of challenges to grow through as well as triumphs to celebrate. I hope you will join me in supporting #smallbusinesssaturday by participating in the #shopsmall movement today and every day. I’ve listed just a few of my favorite small businesses below!
Are you familiar with Mood Fabrics? If you’ve ever watched Project Runway, you might recognize Mood as the fabric store the designers usually go to to get fabric and trims for their projects. That particular Mood is in New York, but we have had a Mood store here in Cali since 2007. Until last weekend I had never been there. My friend Diana decided enough is enough and dragged me kicking and screamin- . . . . okay, not true, she did decide enough was enough, but I definitely was not dragged, and any screams that may have been overheard can definitely be attributed to squeals of delight. The leather aisle had a nice selection of colors and textures. I fell in love with a tie dye lambskin that I actually forgot to take a photo of. (At the moment I am limited to taking photos of leather because I can get carried away with purchasing fabrics and since I am heading into production, the only leather I need to be buying are the ones I need for production #designerdilemas). Anyway, there was definitely a lot of eye candy, and inspiration abounds for me when surrounded by bolts of fabric. It’s definitely worth checking out.
If you are interested in visiting MOOD fabric they are located at: 645 S. LaBrea Av. Los Angeles, CA 90036 | T:323.653.3663 | M-F 9-7 Sat: 10-5 Sun: CLOSED
Hey guys how’s your Wednesday going? I am writing this to you from my new studio. It’s a mess as things are still getting settled, but progress is being made. It’s painted and I have my desk, bright natural light, a sunny disposition + a thankful heart so it’s all good! What are you up to today? Yesterday I worked on a fun project for a friend of mine and we also did a photoshoot for the bags. Today it’s back to reality though. I’m working on the new items I will have for the holiday season. Can you believe it’s already October???? Time is flying by, but this is my absolute favorite time of year so you’ll get no complaining from moi! However, for now it’s back to work. I hope you are all having a fabulous day. Do something today for yourself or your business that you have been putting off. I promise, It will make you feel soooo good!
Picked up the keys to my studio! After school yesterday the kids and I drove out to pick up the keys and do a little bit of last minute measuring. I’m so excited I could pop! This weekend will be filled with painting and moving. It’s definitely an answered prayer. God is so good. I’ve been gradually checking off things from my vision board in the last few years and it feels so amazing! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend, but most of all I hope you are all reaching for your dreams. Just know that no matter how far away they may seem, they are still within reach.
Do you have a working vision board or a book that you put your dreams + goals in?
Hello friends, it’s been a while! It’s been a wonderful summer so far. So much has transpired in the last few weeks, one thing being that my family and I took a 17 day road trip across the country last month and it was absolutely ah-mazing. We saw so much of this beautiful country and our spirits were thoroughly rejuvenated. There’s nothing like travel for renewing the mind, spirit, body and soul. I basically took a mini work hiatus during travel time with the fam and was able to fully dedicate myself and my energy to enjoying each moment. Fortunately, the way I have set up my business has allowed me to be able to take these necessary breaks and I swear, it’s part of what helps me to stay motivated to continue creating, and building my business. I’ve returned from vacation fully motivated, and full of new designs, ideas and projects to implement and share with you guys over the next few months. In the meantime, hope you enjoyed a few snaps from our time in New Orleans. :)
Hey guys, I have a really quick survey that will only take 60 seconds of your time. Please help me out by completing it. It will help me to continue to create handbags, accessories and other products that are relevant to you and your needs! Thanks so much!!
The close of Spring Break is slowly approaching for our household. We thoroughly enjoyed the time off… at least I know I did. Not having to wake up at the butt-crack of dawn every morning + force the little ones out of bed has been a treat in itself. We celebrated Reston’s 11th birthday with a trip to San Diego @ the top of the week. Legoland + Sea World were our destinations. Everyone had a great time, and of course, I relished the time away, along with the change of scenery. The kids were sick for 2 days, and there were school projects to complete, but things have settled back down and it’s Saturday. I’ve got tons of stuff to do, but I plan to ease into it. I hope you all have a fab Saturday, and are able to spend time doing something you love.
