Label Love | Grey City Shoes . . .

GreyCity1_thelookbookphilosophy.com I love the cut out details, rivets and buckles on this bootie that Grey City is debuting for Spring.

Grey City2_thelookbookphilosophy.com Butter soft leather is accentuated by textured suede and stacked heels @ the Grey City booth during the Transit Shoe Show last month. Style shown:: Billie To purchase click here.

I recently discovered Grey City Shoes @ LA Market Week’s Transit Shoe Show last month. Not only do I love their shoes, but I also discovered that Grey City’s designer is a fellow FIDM alumni, which, honestly, made me like the line even more! It’s always inspiring to see other FIDM grads pursuing and achieving their dreams. Grey City is based in Seattle, Washington and is designed by Vikki Andrews, who co-owns the company with childhood friend, Kyle Grant. Vikki debuted the line in the Fall of 2012 and Grey City is now in it’s 4th season. This season’s line features a lot of really great booties with cut out details and buckles. Being that the line is so fashion forward, I thought it would be fun to create some outfits based on a few of their styles to show you how I would wear Grey City . . .

I LOVE the playful gold capped “fringe” and chunky heel, not to mention the gorgeous saffron color. This style is called LEO and it can be found @ solestruck.com

I’ve always been partial to peep toes, and the bowed shape of this heel accentuates the lace-up front and side cut outs of this peep toe bootie spectacularly! This style is called Kennedy and can be purchased here.

Grey City retails from $150-$200 and can be found online @ RevolveClothing.com, SoleStruck.com and Urban Outfitters.

You guys already know I’m a sucker for studs and leather, and these Louboutin studded slip ons are calling my name!!! I really love the current trend of combining luxury with sport influences. Is it possible to have too many pairs of slip ons? I already own 2 pair and I’m drooling over these!!

Instantaneous Obsession ♥: Proenza Schouler Sandals

thelookbookphilosophy.com_schouler1 thelookbookphilosophy.com_schouler2 thelookbookphilosophy.com_schouler3 thelookbookphilosophy.com_schouler4

Yep. Totally LOOOVIN’ these chunky heeled sandals from Proenza Schouler’s Spring ’14 line.  I adore the softly curved lines of the heel, the cleanness of the wood, the stacked platform and the texture of the leathers that were chosen. I love the “retro” nod to the Hurache’s of my youth. Though I never actually owned a pair of Hurache’s (nor did I desire to at the time) this modern day take on an old classic definitely gets my vote. Adding a wooden platform to this style puts it front and center for Spring 2014. The wooden platform reminds me of the kind of wood used in minimalist Swedish interiors, it automoatically gives the shoe a modern vibe. Yep. Not much else to say about these except GET. IN. MY. CLOSET . . . NOW!!!!

I LOVE.

Instantaneous Obsession: Sophia Webster Leilou Stripe Sandal

Sophia Webster Leiou Sandal

Sophia Webster Leilou Stripe leather, suede and canvas sandal $595 here.

Ok, so Sophia Webster is quickly becoming one of my fav shoe designers!! I know we are in the throws of winter, but I couldn’t pass up sharing this beautiful graphic conglomeration of bold orange, pink, black and white patterns. It takes serious skill to mesh stripes, chevron and tassels, and this shoe just knocks it out the box!!!

I LOVE THIS SHOE!!!!! –Santa, can you hear me???

Servio Rossi Boots ♥♥♥

I‘m sure you can probably see through my blogging bluffs and antics and realize that [sometimes] when I post inspiration shots it means I have not had time to sit and gather my thoughts into what I would like to think is a coherent, somewhat entertaining post. Notice I said sometimes . . . I’m pointing this out because this is true for today. But also I just really LOVE these boots and wanted to share them with you. Plus I just love the blogger’s descriptive post about when she received said boots in the mail. I was right there with her and knew that I would have had the same reaction!! Visit A Portable Package for a quick adrenaline rush fueled by this special delivery. I swear I could have written that same post!!

Anyway, the kiddies are off visiting Abuela for the weekend and now I pretty much have NO excuse as to why my workspace is looking like Ground Zero in a paper snowstorm. Yeah, I know. Thats what happens when you come face to face with your own perfectly refined procrastination skills. Well, at least for me, what happens is that I begin to blubberingly confess the aforementioned skills to others in a feeble attempt to hold myself accountable. Which is pretty much what you have just read 4 lines above. See, my thinking is that now that you know that I have no excuse, I will have to clean my workspace because NOW YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE NO EXCUSE!!! And then I can come back and tell you how refreshed I feel because when I sit down to write my next post, I won’t be hunched over and pinched in between a 15″ wide space of  cascading books and papers (topped off with a nice stack of neatly folded laundry . . . don’t ask…) Well, thats the goal for today guys.

Baby steps . . . ☺
