Have a fabulous week!
Have a fabulous week!
How was your week? Did you see or do anything interesting or do anything out of your comfort zone this week? :)
Last week I hooked up with my girl, and fellow designer, Diana of DeZe Star and headed out to Abbot Kinney for a little inspiration and designer talk. I love this area of Venice for it’s chill vibe and aesthetic. It’s come a long way from the sleepy street I remember growing up. Honestly, I could do without some of the faux LA Hipster vibe that permeates the area, but Abbot Kinney never ceases to inspire my creative juices in some way shape or form.
We were starving when we got there, and spotted Wabi Sabi while looking for parking. I had never eaten here before, but it was such a treat, both aesthetically, and edibly! There’s a beautiful bar in the front that you pass through to get to the restaurant area. I didn’t partake of any libations on this trip, but I will definitely be back.
Wishing you a fabulous week. Stay inspired or be inspiring!
It’s been a pretty hectic week! Lots of work to be done and I’m finding it hard to keep things in order. I used to consider myself a really neat, and organized person . . . looking back, I realize that those words described my life pre kids, husband, family and home based business. Learning to just go with it . . .
Did a drive by on one of my favorite restaurants, Gracias Madre in WeHo. I love the food and the atmosphere of this place. It even looks great when it’s closed, lol.
The celebration continued for our new little 9 year old. We took the train to Santa Barbara for the day at her request and spent the day with my brother and his family. We had lunch at my fav SB restaurant, Carlitos. If you ever visit, try the shrimp empanadas. Ah-mazing.
Believe it or not we had a full day of rain last week!!! I loved it and can’t wait until we are blessed with more. This was the view from my window as I worked at my desk and sipped tea. (too bad it was iced tea, even with the rain it was still 80 degrees out).
Took my Shooter Tote on the train ride. It holds everything and never lets me down for travel ♡
Rob took the day off on Thursday and we were both chaperones for our kids classes to the LA County Fair. It was a fun and tiring day. Some good friends of ours did the same so the parents had a playdate and so did the kids. It was a great day.
Have a great weekend. Hope you are spending time with the ones you love, or doing something you really want to do!
A snapshot of my week in images . . .
Have you ever just felt really excited and happy about the future? That’s how I feel right now. This has been a really great week and I almost can’t believe it is Friday already! I hope you have some fun things planned for the weekend . . . and by fun I mean, at least one thing that you really want to do, and that could even be nothing! As long as it’s something you want to do . . .
I love the beauty + fantasy of this ad. . . . Desperately trying to figure out where I could wear this outfit in public and be okay with myself the next day . . . I wonder if the bunnies are included?
I don’t read the paper through and through like Rob does, But I do enjoy a cup of coffee and a good read. If I do read the newspaper, I typically stick to the Business section, the Image section or Real Estate . . . reading the paper is another one of those things I always considered to be a “grown up” thing. These days I prefer to get my news from NPR or the BBC . . .
My brother and niece came out to spend time for his birthday last weekend and we took the kids to the park . . . actually we took them to their school playground, and the swings were high enough for me to get my swing on! . . . #rare
I spent a couple of hours working from Starbucks @ Barnes & Noble this week. It’s so refreshing to change your surroundings. Plus I have been suffering from wanderlust and foreign fashion magazines are my temporary solution to tide me over until I can get away again!
Yeah so, it is definitely true love . . . this polish by Fergie for Wet-n-Wild is my new fav. I can’t get enough of it! When it chips, I take it all off and just reapply. It’s so bright and happy. I can’t find it in the stores anymore though. I wanted to get a back up bottle but alas . . . that ship may have sailed so I’m secretly on the lookout for another really bright reddish pink. Let me know if you know of any!! Btw, did you notice my glued-back-together-frame in the background? tee hee hee . . . Vision Therapy has been going well for Reston. He is really progressing. Over the past few months we have been watching the building undergo some remodeling and landscaping changes. I love these new planters they put in. Because of the drought, more and more people are turning to dry landscaping options. I was never really a fan, but lately I have been seeing lots of options that I really like . . .
The weather this week has been fairly overcast . . which of course I love. I also love that I get to work in front of this huge window of natural light everyday. Downside:: two birds, on two different days, ran into the window right in front of me this week . . . not so cool . . .
I’m headed to San Diego tomorrow to do a culinary walking tour! Although it looks like it might be be raining, ☁☂☁ I think it will add to the adventure. Can’t wait to taste! Hope you guys have a fantastic weekend!
