Every few days or so I’m struck with wanderlust… honestly, I think that is my normal operating status. I basically live in a constant state of wanderlust. As a child, my family moved around quite a bit and I loved it. Discovering new neighborhoods, finding new places to shop, hang out and stroll through, that was adventurous to me. Being the new kid at schools wasn’t always fun, but even though I was shy, I made great friends all over the country that I’m still friends with to this day. As of now, I’ve been living in the same place for 14 years. I’m so thankful for my home, I love it, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t restless. Until that next move, travel is my best friend. Travel doesn’t have to be long international trips, (although those are wonderful). Travel can be short one nighters, day trips or weekend jaunts, just as long as there’s a change of scenery. When I am traveling and immersing myself in new surroundings, observing the locals, and ogling architecture, I am in heaven. It’s totally mind refreshing and inspirational to me.
Here’s to finding new places to discover!

Hey guys! I wrote an article for BossMom Nation about pushing through the frustrations of running a business on your own. There’s an excerpt below. Head over to BossMom Nation to read the full article . . !
As a mompreneur, running a business on a shoestring budget with little to no help is more than a notion. If something goes wrong. . . you have to handle it. Copy machine breaks down? You learn how to fix it or make a run to Kinkos. Materials don’t arrive on time? . . you get on the phone and track them down (and then work extra hard to keep everything else on schedule so there is no trickle down in the production schedule). When orders need to go out to customers you put on your shipping hat and ship them. Vendors need to be paid? Switch over to your accounting hat and get those bills paid. In addition to all the physical things that go on in a business, there is the mental work that takes place throughout the day .. .creative budgeting, creating product + implementing ideas for marketing, advertising, collaborations and even blog posts. Couple all of that with trying to accomplish something meaningful before the kids get home from school, or the baby wakes up from nap time, and things can feel a little overwhelming.

Have a great weekend!
How’s your week going so far? I’ve enjoyed having back to back Mondays off. The kids were out of school the past two Mondays and Rob was off as well. I love how 3-day weekends pack a double bonus…. first you get a day off, then you follow that up with a short work week. Problem is, I always seem to go through the week a day off. For instance, I didn’t post on time today, which is my usual day to post, because I’m still thinking it’s Tuesday! But I digress… Things have been going well. I’m definitely keeping busy with production and delivery which is a true blessing. I’ve got a new contractor that I am working with and things seem to be going quite well. I was getting so many orders for the Mailer clutches that I had to farm out production. I was truly enjoying making them myself, but with all the hats I am wearing at the moment, I realized that I had to let go of what I could. This has been an ongoing lesson for me . . . learning to let go and delegate where necessary. I tend to think I can do it all myself. Moreover, I almost want to do it all myself. It’s been a slow process but I’m learning that the beauty of letting go of some of your tasks is that it allows you to have time to devote to other things.
Is there anything in your life you can delegate, which will in turn, free you up to focus on other things? Think about it . . .
The Boston Mini in Electric Blue makes a great lipstick holder…
How are you guys? This week has been so busy that I forgot to post on the blog yesterday! I’ve been working hard to fill orders, which is always exciting. But the kiddies have been sick off and on so there has been a lot of logistical juggling. I’m so thankful that I am able to work from home and that my parents and mother-in-law are local and as involved with my kids lives as they are. It really does help to have a trustworthy “village” within which to raise children. But I digress. Did you see the new electric blue color we are introducing this month? It’s a patent leather texture that I really love. The shine adds extra pop to the bright color. I’ll be adding them to the shop early next week. Oh, and be on the lookout for the Helene mailer in a beautiful Cherry Red. It’s made from the same textured patent leather. Perfect for Valentine’s Day. :)
Enjoy the rest of your week! It’s already Thursday!
