Making a List and Checking it Twice . . .

So, I really feel strongly about focusing on the fact that Christmas is actually the celebration of Jesus’ birth. I won’t go all into my thoughts on the overmaterialization of Christmas… (is that a word? You know I love making up words…) But I do love the idea of giving as a way of celebrating. Rob and I usually don’t exchange Christmas gifts because we tend to put our focus on giving to the kiddies and the rest of the family, but that never stops me from keeping a wish list. It’s pretty tame this year, but here are a few things I’m looking to add to my stash in the near future . . .

  1. Souchi madame butterfly cashmere sweater . . . yep, uh huh . . .
  2. MICHAEL Michael Kors Metallic Zip Infinity Scarf . . .oh yea
  3. A pretty new lipstick . . . I’m loving poppy & orange colors right now. . . not so sure how that will look with braces tho, so I may have to hold off a bit . . .
  4. Sylva & Cie 18k Emerald Slice Drop Earrings . . . yummy ear candy . . .
  5. New black booties . . . I love the ones I found for the collage above, but forgot to take note who made them. If anyone knows, LMK!
  6. Bottega Veneta By Thomas Maier (one of my fav design houses, great coffee table book. Yep, desired.)
  7. Philip Lim 31 Hour Fold Over Bag . . . the weekender version of this will be my carry on for my next trip overseas . . .
  8. Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel . . . my supply is gettin’ low, I refuse to step toe to pavement without her!
  9. Handmade hammered gold stacking rings . . . I love these rings so much. Another pic from my files, I can’t remember where I found it ugh!
  10. Anything in a little box, wrapped up all pretty and tied with a bow. . . well, almost anything!

What goodies are on your wish list?

For Love and Friends . . .

Okay, so its ridiculously ridiculous that my last post was on saying goodbye to October, and we are now 3 days away from Christmas!!!

Instead of boring you with apologies (I really am sorry, I can’t help but to apologize). I will cut to the chase. Life has been a little hectic!! I’m not complaining, it’s just the way it is right now! The biscuits started Winter Break on Thursday. My nephew had a baby, well, He didn’t have a baby, but you know what I mean…(shout out to Amaya Anali, 1 week old!!! Yay!) I’d post pics but you gotta get permission for these types of things or you might get the proverbial boot to the… ) anyway, take my word for it, she’s adorable. This month Nadiya joined Girl Scouts and we’ve already had 2 meetings and are in the process of making some great friends and memories. -Actually, this will be good for mom too. And by mom I mean me. Yes folks, you are reading the words of a Girl Scout Drop Out. Uh huh. Don’t even remember my troop number. Didn’t even last a full summer. I think I got one badge. It was yellow and had a horse on it. Don’t know what it was for because I never rode a horse, fed a horse or did anything with a horse. I’m allergic to horses so I don’t even know how I earned that badge. I was also horrified to have to sell those cookies. And now look… some 30 odd years later, we meet again. Now I have to take my very own daughter to peddle cookies in front of some unassuming grocery store. Trying not to bother people while bothering them as they leave the store with their purchases. I know I’ll secretly be keeping tabs on how many people exit from the opposite door in order to avoid the cookie pitch. It’s okay. I don’t blame them. Sometimes you just want to go to the store and not be accosted by little girls with badges and boxes of sweets you know you don’t need, or nice people ringing bells. But I digress, last week Reston started @ a new karate studio (same Sensei, different dojo… long story). Meanwhile, I’ve been knee deep in leather swatches and cost sheets for the past 2 weeks and I’ve begun the process of getting the hardware moulds made for my handbags –Hip Hip HOORAYSKI!!!! All good stuff.  And seeing as today was supposed to be the end of the world as we know it (according to the Mayan calendar) and I am still here typing on my trusty macbook, I’d say, at the moment, life is good.

Have you made any special plans for the holidays?

Exquisite Beauty…

Grace Bol

Hello friends!  How have you been? Please forgive, I’ve been on the run lately and have been neglecting my blogging practices! ☹ I keep putting it off waiting for the right time to sit and post (also known as procrastination). Apparently the time is never right. (I have learned this lesson somewhere in my past a couple hundred thousand times– I guess I just needed a refresher!)

It is December already!! Since we last connected I have turned 41, Thanksgiving has come and gone, & I have taken a huge step closer toward some major goals for my business! At the moment, I am sitting amidst a mound of papers on my desk that need to be tended to, so I thought I would take some of the pressure off myself (a.k.a. procrastinate even more) by bringing some beauty into your day with this picture of the lovely Grace Bol. I hope life is treating you all well. So many wonderful things are happening over here. Every day I am watching the dreams I have for my business actualize!!! There is nothing like it in the world. I hope you are all getting closer to achieving your deepest desires as well.

Enjoy your Tuesday… it is Tuesday, right?
