This weekend my Mom performed at a local Restaurant and Bar in Encino. Rob and I drove out to support her and were treated to a night of good music and yummy Mediterranean food. (I am a sucker for Greek salads and Shrimp Kabobs). My mom is a jazz singer and performs monthly at different venues. I am really proud of her. She has always loved to sing, but in recent years she has really begun pursuing her dream. I love the fact that she has never let her dream die, and after raising my brother and myself, and retiring from a tiring job, she now has the time and energy to further feed her passion.
Are there any dreams in your life that are dying to be fed?
I love the rustic slats used as the basis for this bold scripture. I also love that it uses all lowercase letters. For some reason that is always appealing to me. Perhaps it appeals to that rebellious side of me that enjoys breaking the rules of the English language by creating my own words. Nevertheless, I must have this for my kitchen! These gorgeous platforms beautifully combine the natural textures of raffia, grosgrain and leather. Throw in the chain trim and these babies have just the edge and sophistication to cause passerby to do a double take. I. AM. IN. LOVE. ♥♥♥ Purchase them here.

Having a hard time staying focused today! Not sure if it is because it’s almost the weekend, but I am doing ALOT of traveling in my mind . . . . perhaps my wanderlust is rearing it’s charming head again. There is no true cure for wanderlust other than a prescription to get outta Dodge. I’m game!!!! Anyone else?
I love typography and the beauty of written words. When I came across this poster I knew I would have to have one of my very own. Kal is an award-winning illustrator and graphic designer who works in various mediums. This particular poster is 16 x 20, and comes numbered and signed. Best of all the words in this poster speak to the beauty in all of us. See more of Kal’s beautiful work here.
Great words to start off a weekend with, don’t you think? Happy Friday Everyone! xo
